An ever-increasing body of research strongly supports the many health benefits of adding Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) to our diets. Extra Virgin Olive Oil has more commonly been described as a “healthy fat.” And for good reasons. On February 13th, 2017, the journal Circulation released a new study conducted at the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute in Barcelona, in which researchers may have found a link between adding extra virgin olive oil to a Mediterranean diet and heart health. They concluded that it “may be tied to a lower risk of heart disease at least in part because it helps maintain healthy blood flow and clear debris from arteries.”
