Pesto Garlic Bread

Bread is one carb that I'll never give up. So when I found myself with a lot of bread at home, I had to figure out what I could make with it. This was another one of my "A-ha!" moments. I was so happy that I was able to find a way to incorporate pesto into yet another recipe. Pesto goes with pretty much everything and especially with garlic bread. With a few simple steps, I was able to create a quick and easy Pesto Garlic Bread. It's perfect as an appetizer, a snack, or even the bread for a nice sandwich.
Serving Size: 2-4
Prep Time: 10-15 minutes
Cook Time: 10-15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Baguette
  • 3 TBLS Cucina & Amore Basil Pesto Alla Genovese
  • 1 Cup shredded Parmesan & Romano Cheese
  • 1 TSP Garlic
  • 2 TBLS Cucina & Amore Fruttato Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400° F and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil
  2. Cut the baguette in half then cut the halves length wise
  3. Crush the garlic
    • I used about 1 tsp, but you can use more if you like a lot of garlic
  4. Mix the Cucina & Amore Fruttato EVOO with the garlic
  5. Drizzle the baguette with the olive oil and garlic mixture
  6. In a bowl, mix a cup of Parmesan & Romano cheese
    • Mine came in a mixed bag
    • You can also use mozzarella or Italian cheese blend
  7. Add the pesto to the cheese and stir until all the cheese is evenly coated in pesto
  8. Spread the pesto cheese mixture evenly onto each baguette
  9. Put the baguette on the baking sheet and put it in the oven
  10. Cook for 10-15 minutes (depending on the oven and if you like it crispy)
  11. Enjoy!
